Impact Goal 3: Support Underserved and Vulnerable Communities
The COVID-19 crisis has reminded us on the importance of being altruistic during challenging times. Therefore, we have established a charity and community programme during the first burst of COVID-19 crisis which we have maintained since.
Highlights and achievements:
In total, TFP has contributed RM121, 070 worth of food items and outreached 1237 of individuals from vulnerable and charity community.
Participated in the Rice Bucket Challenge in conjunction with the World Food Day 2020. The challenge encourages the community to get together to fill up a bucket (or a basket) with rice or essential food/non-food items at The Food Purveyor stores and donate it to those in need.
TFP partner-up with Air Selangor Sdn Bhd and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia to initiate Box Of Hope programme. This initiative encourages customers to donate essential food items to the participating Village Grocer outlets across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya. Items collected from these boxes will be distributed to the various charities associated with Yayasan Food Bank. The programme has benefitted B40 families staying in 35 people’s housing projects (PPR) within the Klang Valley, up to 1,295 families.
List of philanthropy activities:
Distribution of free sandwiches for 350 medical frontlines at 8 different hospitals;
Raise A Smile This Easter for 209 children from 8 orphanage homes;
Distribution of essential food to 500 under-privilege kids under Protect and Save the Children Association(PST);
Ramadan Charity Drive – Raya Cookies for 15 orphanage homes;
TLFP x TFP: A Visit to Rumah Kasih;
Halloween with Shepherd’s Centre Foundation;
Donation to the Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped Selangor and Federal Territory; and
